Protecting yourself from Storms

Severe weather can strike quickly and leave behind a trail of destruction. So to protect yourself, your family and home from these real dangers take a little bit of knowledge and preparation. However, it is possible to stay safe and control damage by following a few simple steps.
- During the storm: if you experience a power outage, please alert your local Energy company.
- Consider checking on others who may benefit from your assistance.
- Don’t get near power lines because, its very dangerous.
- Don’t open freezers and refrigerators any more to avoid food goods from decomposing quickly.
- During severe weather or power outages, turn off as many appliances and electronic as possible.
- Keep children and family pets away from where lines may have fallen (backyards, fields, school yards, etc.)
- Continue to monitor the media for important information.
