Basement Flooded in Riverhead

The water that flooded this basement came from a broken pipe. There are different methods to clean up water damage depending where the water came from. When the water came from a sewer, like in this case show above, we had to tear out everything that was in contact with the contaminated water. In this case we started off with removing standing water using high powered extractors We also had to tear out baseboards, and moisture affecting the drywall. We had to remove 2’ of drywall from the surface floor as well as entire saturated carpet to aid in the drying of the inner wall cavity. Applied anti-microbial solution to all affected carpet areas and sub-floor as needed to inhibit bacterial and mold growth and to control odors.

After the affected material was removed, SERVPRO of The North Fork proceeded to set up drying equipment, this process usually takes three to 5 days; however, there may be situations that will require more time, our technicians will monitored & examine all surfaces and ensure that the drying process is complete.
